Gymnastic Class Descriptions
Guppies
Parent and Tot class. Ages 16 months to 3 years, 45 minutes. This is an introduction to basic gymnastics that incorporates rhythm, movement, and strength. Students will get to do bars, beam, floor and tumble track. This is a great class for social interaction, cognitive development, and physical activity.
Tadpoles
Ages 3-4. Introduction to Gymnastics. Tadpoles is a 45 minute class that includes bars, beam, floor, and tumble trak. Students in this level will begin work on their forward rolls and cartwheels, beginner skills on bars, and beam activities. Class helps cognitive development, physical movement, and social skills. Student must be potty trained.
Frogs
Ages 4-5. Pre-level Gymnastics. Students in this class are working on forward and backward rolls, pull over on the bars, and strengthening their cartwheel. Frogs class is 60 minutes long and consists of bars, beam, floor, and tumble track. This class will help enhance strength, flexibility, and self-esteem.
Swordfish
Ages 4-5 Boys only. Pre-level Gymnastics. Swordfish is a specially designed pre-level for boys only. The will work on floor, tumble track, pommel horse, parallel bars, and rings. This class stresses strength, co-ordination, and flexibility. 60 minutes.
Stepping Stones Series: Girls
- Rec Level 1
6-12 years. Beginner Gymnastics. Students in Rec Level 1 will be learning Level 1 Beginner skills. The 90 minute class includes floor, bars, beam, vault, and tumble trak. Rainbow fish work on all basic skills, such as: pull overs, front and back rolls, cartwheels, bridges, releve walks on beam, and so on. Enhancing strength, flexibility, and self-esteem. Prepares student for Rec Level 2. - Rec Level 2
6-12 years. Invitation only. 90 minutes. Rec Level 2 works on Level 2 skills, progressing on previous skills learned in Level 1. Students will work on their back bends and walk overs, round-offs, back hip circles, and more. This level will prepare students for Rec Level 3. - Rec Level 3
- Ages 6-12. 90 minutes, Invitation only. This level requires a comprehensive knowledge of skills and self-motivation for advancement. Though our recreational program we take into serious account the drills and skills taught in this level. Preparing the girls for Level 3. Rec Level 3 will lead up to, Competitive Prep Optional, Competitive 4, or High School Gymnastics (ages 12 and up).
The Ladder Series - a build up to our Team Program
75 minutes. Beginner to intermediate boys gymnastics. Boys will learn the basis of competitive men's gymnastics skills. Class concentrates heavily on strength and co-ordination. Students will work on floor, parallel bars, rings, pommel horse, high bar, and vault.
- This class is a pre-requisit for Competitive Boy's team level 4. Boy's will develop skills, strength, confidence, and discipline.
Sunbeam 1
Girls only. Ages 4-7. 90 minutes, Invitation only. A student in Sunbeam 1-2 will begin Team training. This class is reserved for only those students who show promise of advancement, self-motivation, and a love of learning. This class is more serious and exact than our recreational program, while still fostering an environment of love and fun for gymnastics. Students from this class will advance on to Sunbeam 2 or Rec Level 3.
Sunbeam 2
Girls only. Ages 5-8 Pre-Team, Invitation only. 1.5 hours, 2 times per week. When a student advances to this level it becomes a bigger commitment to not just the student, but to the parents as well. Sunbeam 3’s will be refining current skills and learning new in preparation for Competitive Level 3 Team and Level 4 Team. These girls show focus, drive, and desire. Advancements include Competitive 3 or 4.
Future Stars
Boys only. Ages 4 to 6 Pre-Team, Invitation only. 1.5 hour class, 1 time a week. Students invited to this class show the ability to learn and a drive and willingness to work. Boys work on all events, rings, high bard, parallel bars, pommel horse, and floor. This class leads to Competitive Boy's Team level 4.
Tumbling
Ages 6 and up. A 60 minute class concentrated just on tumbling skills. Whether a beginner learning cartwheel, or an advanced tumbler. This class is ideal for Cheerleaders who want to learn Cartwheels, Round-offs, and Backhand Springs.
Gymnastic Workout Class
Ages 11 and up. This class consists of gymnasts of all different levels. Generally smaller, H.S. Gymnastics gears toward the individual. Whether level 1 or 10, this class will continue to further your gymnastics skills no matter your age.
Rhythmic Gymnastics
A hybrid of Dance and Gymnastics, this class requires strength and flexibility along with the graceful movement and focus of dance.
